interlaken,switzerland

Hallo, guten tag! Ich bin in switzerland right now! using the hotels free computer hahaha. their internet is all in german but I can still manage to find my way heh heh. their keyboard is quite weird also and i had a hard time finding the exclamation and @ signs lol. anyhoo, i think i will only be able to upload photos when i get back to sg.

this is how it looks like roughly, except that its covered in snow now haha. I love this place so much, its so much more warmer and emits the heartwarming feeling. unlike berlin which is biting cold, wet and dark.

anyway, kids get dragged by parents on sleighs here on the rich and thick snow! sometimes I just feel like hopping on haha.

the pigeons are fatter, porn magazines are everywhere, singapores one is damn fail no full nudity lol. and construction workers are mostly europeans! haha singapore just imports road sweepers from overseas cause we are just too spoilt.

the atmosphere here is just too liberal and i feel damn unconstricted like loads of bricks have been removed from my brains. people can just whip out their muscial instruments and play them on the train. pets are allowed everywhere. people eat on the train. grafitti is a national past time. such stark difference from the place that i came from, with such an authoritarian and paternalistic govt.

so i guess ill enjoy more of this romantic atmosphere and indulge myself while i still can. this is just a short update hahaha. tata. ciao. see zou then!

Meanwhile

I will be away for 17 days(refer to post below), dunno if will update or not.

However I have uploaded old archives from my old blog! Haha, my writing used to be full of literary techniques and puns back then. All because I had been reading avidly and emulating my favourite authors :) However, I sounded a tad irritating when I was 16!

My favourite posts will be:

Marriages and happy endings
judgement day, end of the world is tomolo
Prodigal parties and pleasant panties (pantries)
Ridiculous results

I'm going to Europe tomorrow!

I'm going to Europe tomorrow! No,actually, it's in a few hours time! Yes!!! In case you're wondering, I'm not impersonating anyone. *sniggers*

Anyway, I have done a lot in order to prepare myself for my Europe trip haha. I wake up everyday at 3pm Singapore time (8am Czech time) so that I won't get jetlag when I go there!

Here's what I'm going to do on the airplane to reinforce the Asian stereotype:

1) put on my 3 inches thick glasses and practise algebra
2) burst into tears and break into hives when they serve me spaghetti instead of rice
3) showcase my karate moves by breaking wooden planks into two

Anyway, I'm just crapping. This will be the places that I will be going.

Prague, czech republic

Prague. If the capital of the world is selected based on beauty and aesthetic instead of economical and political reasons, prague definitely deserves the name instead of Paris and New York! Look at the well-protected middle-ages architecture! Gothic, renaissance, romanticism, baroque! You name it, they've got it. Prague castle is one of the largest castle in the world!

Berliner Dom - The Charles Bridge
Berlin
This place is full of history! From the Jewish massacre to the division of Germany and the symbol of east-west schism between communism and capitalism, Berlin wall!

                                                                      Munich, germany

Beautiful!

Koblenz,Germany
I'll be having a white christmas at this place! I feel damn lucky! One of the best christmas in my pathetic little life! HAHA.

Fussen, Germany
Home to the beautiful, dreamy and immaculate castle! The Disney castles such as cinderella and sleeping beauty are modelled after this classic castle!

Zurich, Switzerland
Zurich! Haven't read up on switzerland yet but will try to on my trip!

Berne,switzerland
High up in the mountains, will reach to about negative 20 degrees! BRRR

I'm eggcited! Have a happy holidays hohoho. See you next time!

phone to email to facebook to teleporter

‎1800: "i'll ask the owl to send a letter to you"
1970: "I'll talk to you when I see you"
1990: "I'll call you"
2000: "I'll email you"
2005: "Can I text you?"
2010: "Alright, facebook or text?"
2100: "I'll send you a telepathic message"

2100:"I'll teleport to where you are now, baby"

Technology is so stylo milo. Back then, people calculated using hands, then some smart china guy invented abacus. Then a smart angmoh guy invented calculator. And now we have quantum computers that can decode impossible numbers to save man from his lazy tendencies

We used to pass messages to each other in class discreetly by throwing paperballs, avoiding getting caught by the menacing teacher with a fearful aura, but to no avail. Now we just hide our phones in our pockets and msg by our magnificent sense of touch. Writing diaries was meant for private consumption, in a distant past. Porn came in the format of papers and then came moving pictures that maximized satisfaction.

Research requires one to rot a hella vu la way at cold and stale libraries and then came the dot.coms

I was asking my mum who is 50 years old how people met during the 1970s without cell phones. She said they just agreed on a timing and place and meet. But what if something suddenly held up? What if a road accident happens? You get held up for nothing........

Anyway I was considering the possibilities of teleporters. Think of satellites, they can transmit messages and images from one end of the Earth to the other end.

"But only waves can be transmitted! Particles can't be! Humans are made up of Particles!!!???"

Bet you learnt that from Charlie and the chocolate of factory, didn't you. Maybe maybe particles can be deconstructed and then constructed again in a distant far away land?

hmm if this is possible, i'll think that there'll be alot of gruesome accidents. I imagine that teleportation transport ppl by taking apart their molecules and send them to miles away and then construct them back again.

if the machine goes cuckoo then uh oh.....

Caucasian women v.s. asian women

Since when did caucasian girls represent beauty and asian girls are just dismissed as....plain?

Is it because Caucasian girls have sharper nose, protruding lips, deep-set talking eyes and better jawlines? Or the big, volumised hair complete with an impeccable sense of fashion? Admit it guys, it's because they have bigger nehnehs to squish your face in.

Going back to the root of the problem, it's because Western culture has a much stronger global impact than other cultures and media conglomerates undeniably comes from the west, toying with our perceptions and such.

To me, caucasian beauties are overrated (although still beautiful) and they cannot achieve the kind of look that asian girls can. The gentleness, frailty, ice cold and innocent look.

Since when did horse-face Lucy and slut Bai ling represent the whole of Chinese race? We should start importing fresh faces now to uphold our reputation!

Sorry Lucy Liu, I still like your role in Charlie's Angels and your wicked sense of humor!

Ok, back to caucasian women. Sometimes I just wonder why people like Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock and Megan Fox dominate the lists of "Hottest Women" by men magazines.

Bold and pretty features yes but too strong and explicit for my liking. Heavy features make one look masculine, not to mention sausage-like lips.

Even worse, I dont get what's the deal with Sex bomb a.k.a Megan fox

Man, is there even a tinge of femininity left in her(pun intended)? She looks like a transvestite to me. Or is she the younger version of plastic queen Janice Dickinson

See the uncanny resemblance? Now, which guy of the right mind would like to screw people like this? People who are blind perhaps.

If you would like me to describe Caucasian beauty in a literary way with analogy, I would like to think that Caucasians represent the element fire. They are bold and dazzling and certainly burn with confidence. They instill fear in those who hear their name. But after all that burning, what's left is just dust and ashes.

Asian Women, or East-Asian women rather, would represent the element water. They are quiet and gentle and do not yearn to get noticed, they hide in insignificant places and appear to be transparent. They taste plain but are essential to life.

To quote Memoirs of a geisha
Water changes shape and flows around things, and finds the secret path no one else has thought about - the tiny hole through the roof or the bottom of a box There's no doubt it's the most versatile of the Five Elements. It can wash away Earth, it can put out Fire, it can wear a piece of Metal down and sweep it away. Even Wood, which is it's natural complement, can't survive without being nurtured by water.
Asian beauties are implicit and require time to discover and the taste to appreciate beauties  requires time to nurture. Caucasian beauties are love at first sight but Asian beauties require time to appreciate but once you do, it's everlasting.

Asian women are like fine french wine, the longer you brew and taste, the more fragrant they get. Or maybe Tsuke Sushi, the more you chew, the tastier they get.

Just look at Liu Yi fei (刘亦菲). Those delicateness and Porcelain skin. One would definitely not associate her with evil. Slightly perky and small nose. Beautiful but not overwhelming and threatening. Gentle is the word. One would expect her to speak like the wind, soft and wispy.

Hebe tian (田馥甄). Cold ice queen, indifferent to the world. broody like a philosopher, complete with an independent attitude. I like!

And caucasians certainly can't sport the pan-cute look better than Asian girls.

Some random Japanese celebrity, Rainie Yang (杨丞琳) and Ayumi Hamasaki (滨崎步) . And to prove my point, here's a little snippet of scientific evidence.
The Mongoloid skull, whether Chinese or Japanese, has been rather more neotenized than the Caucasoid or European."[30] "The female skull, it will be noted, is more pedomorphic in all human populations than the male skull."[30] "Mongoloid races are explained in terms of being the most extreme pedomorphic humans."[31] "The intuition that advanced human development was pedomorphic rather than recapitulationary and accelerated was disturbing to many Eurocentric nineteenth century anthropologists."[32] "If juvenilization was the characteristic for advanced status, then it was clear that the Mongoloid races were more deeply fetalized in most respects and thus capable of the greatest development.
Neotenized and Pedomorphic means retaining childhood features when you have already reached adulthood. This explains why asians tend to have the least body hair and why we age the slowest. And in evolution terms, it is considered better.

A potential correlate of beauty is pedomorphy, which is the retention in adults of child-like traits. For instance, women have facial features that are closer to those of children than men, and more feminine women have facial features that are even closer to those of children. Thus, it may be proposed that pedomorphy is a correlate of beauty.---taken from a site about beauty science.
which is why madonna looks like this in her 50s while Maggie Cheung ( 张曼玉 ) is still radiant

Ok to be fair to Madonna, she didnt put makeup while Maggie has. And also Maggie's photo is taken in a studio.

This is the classic National Geographic photo of the same afghan woman(caucasian). She's 13 on the left and 20 plus or 30 plus on the right. shocking doesnt it? I thought she was a full-grown adult(left pic).

But in the end it all boils down to personal preferences doesnt it? Both races are beautiful in their own way but to me, Asian women wins cause of their femininity and gentleness.

But then again, I'm making over-generalizations. You have to factor in the individual as well! If you have crappy genes, nothing will salvage the situation!

Just look at Nina Dobrev

A caucasian with softer features and the "water" quality. Perfect.

inuyashsa: Final Act

You can watch the Final Act on www.veoh.com, it loads very fast although u need to download something.

Finally, Naraku is dead. I have been waiting for 10 years. I have been cheated over and over again during the series that Naraku is dead. I was thinking 这个死老妖怪很长气hor? (translation: this old demon's breath very long hor?)

I finished all 26 episodes of the Final Act in two days. Pro or not? haha.

The anime finally finished after a long run of 10 years. I enjoyed it alot during childhood but nah, not now. I wish that I watched the ending when I was in secondary school though.

I mean I prefer implicit stuff now, the themes and "moral of the story" in Inuyasha is too blatant and the moralistic lines are very "in your face". I guess that's the downside of being trained in literature?

Inuyasha is very asian-themed, the story is set between the Heian Era where chinese influence was very strong and Sengoku Japan. All those elements of buddhism, shintoism and allegories about concepts of asian mysticism. Karma, demons and reincarnation etc. I'll say that perhaps I will be able to appreciate it more if I was younger, back in those days when I was in an all-chinese school. I feel that the landscape of my mind has changed now, being exposed to years of English and western education. I can't think fully with a chinese mind anymore?

Nevertheless, I still like how the characters struggle for identity and fight against discrimination. Lots of scenes are dedicated to revealing the discrimination against demons and half-demons. Half-demons are the most tragic as humans fear/loathe them and full demons look down on them and dismiss them as weaklings.

Like most asian films, Inuyasha also focuses a lot on the psychological development of the characters. Inuyasha and Kagome had to overcome their innermost fears and normally illusions are set up to deceive them. Kikyo and Inuyasha also had to solve the deceit and overcome the misunderstanding set up by Naraku fifty years ago when he posed as Inuyasha and set out to harm Kikyo.

One of the part, sibling rivalry between sesshomaru and Inuyasha, I can relate to it well lol.

Anyway I would like to think that the most tragic character of all is Kikyo. Fooled and killed by Naraku and revived fifty years later to an undead body.

Kikyo

Kikyo reminds me of Xiao Long Nu from Return of the Condor Heroes. The pale delicateness. Those despair and loneliness in the eyes....cold and indifferent to the contaminated world.

Movie Analysis: Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows Part I

Warning:Spoilers Ahead!

From the beginning of the movie, I was thinking if reference is made to the Holocaust. A professor who majored in Muggle Studies and in defence of their bloodline is captured by Voldemort and then killed.

Later throughout the movie, it is evident already. There are recurring elements that reflect one of the major theme is revealing the horrors of ethnic cleansing like those of the Jewish massacre. Muggle families need to register their particulars and secret agents are always on the run to catch those with "inferior blood". Propaganda is always printed and widely distributed by the Magic Ministry(which fell into the hands of the evil) to further condemn and smear the names of those with non-magical blood.

Totalitarianism and Subversion also ring a bell at points of time. When the ministry is infiltrated by death eaters and Voldermort's team, truth is often distorted, oppressive measures got in place, "dissents" like harry potter has to be captured and "inferior blood" has to be cleansed. Voldermort would remind one of Adolf Hitler or Josef Stalin. Dictatorship.

Dolores Umbridge is a conservative education worker and would tweak the education system according to her agenda by hook or by crook and she ends up working with the dark forces. She is a power hungry bitch.

The movie also seem to hint that sacrifices need to be made for the greater good. To achieve the end, sacrifices are inevitable and necessary. When the Order of the Phoenix has to escort Harry to the safe place,  Hedwig and Mad-Eye Moody died as a result of protecting Harry. Dobby is also killed when he attempts to save Harry and gang when they are captured and held as hostages in the Malfoy Manor.

If you ask me what the movie smell of, I'll think that it smell of death. Death is imminent throughout the movie and Ron is afraid that Death will be upon his family and guards by the radio continuously and hopes that the names of his beloved ones wont be broadcast. He gets into a fight with Harry later and told Harry that he could never put himself in his shoes because his parents are already dead.

Harry Potter, Ron and Hermoine also have to isolate themselves from the rest to seek the hocruxes in a bid to destroy Lord Voldermort. Loneliness bears the "death" smell too, dont you think?

<----end of analysis---->

Overall the movie is not bad, very theme heavy and matured, unlike the first few books. I like!
The visual effects are good, the pace is mid-fast and culminated in a final exciting battle which leaves craving for the audiences!

The development of the story is also different from the previous books as most of them are set in Hogwarts and this time they have to go on a quest to find the hocruxes in order to destroy Voldermort instead of spending their final year in school.

And walao I caught the movie during thurs morning and the cinema was full of JC students! Liberation from last A level paper perhaps?

What you swallow to ease the pain, what you say out of malice, what you spat out of spit.

None of these will make you happy, not one was done for love.

types of people in high school

Disclaimer: contains exaggerated and magnified opinions for comical effect. They do represent reality to a certain extent (based on blogger's experience) but similarities to real life people are mere coincidences! 若有雷同,纯属巧合!

1)The angmoh-pai (white-washed teenagers)

These white-washed teenagers are normally ashamed of their roots and try to emulate american high school kids by stuffing their face with chick flicks like mean girls, gossip girls and sex and the city. They start to make a mockery out of good virtues and let hell loose by adopting inappropriate behaviors.

They support the notion of melodrama in Victorian society and play up their hyper-activeness. Loud and proud, they squeak like hamsters and make a fool out of themselves. Nowadays, It's fashion and state-of-art to act dumb.

They like to pick up foreign phrases and slangs like OH-EM-GEE. And squeal YOU'RE SO MEANNNN during bitching sessions (ya right, get off your high horse bitch, I bet you feel the same way inside.)

when insulted, they resort to the bimbotic way of defending themselves. OH MY, YOU'RE SOOO ANNOYINGGGG. Yes, they like to project their high-pitched voices and love to drag their sentences.

They call their friends "the bitches". Speaking of that, they value friends over family. And they must hug their friends every single time they meet. Even though its only 5 seconds after he/she bought seaweed chicken from the canteen. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Yea, right.

They hold viral goals and seek to be rich, beautiful, dirty and famous.

They are intolerant and seek to destruct everything disagreeable that comes their way. Their favourite teasing target is Chinese-speaking people.

They are rebellious but they rebel without a good cause. Only because it's cool. Youth in revolt!

2) Overly-positive fakes

These kind of people have permanent plastic smiles plastered all over their faces but actually they have knives and daggers hidden behind them. Beware.

They claim to be ultra-friendly to you and give you the megawatt-smile and 72 tricks to win you over. They'll treat you to free food, pull your chair and etc, all kinds of resorts.

But the moral of the story is, this underlying positivity is just a mean to psyche themselves up. The loudest/happiest people are actually the ones who are the most fucked up inside.

3) The rich Aristocrats

wealthy and gorgeous people from the upper echelons of society.
Privileged people who party a hella vu time away! They try to be posh and insist to wear expensive jackets in school even when its burning 40 degree celsius.

They tend to have the latest gadgets on hand. Iphone 4. Ipad. You name it, they got it.

Their facebook profile pictures are normally pictures of them wearing sunglasses. indoors.

They like to flag for taxis instead of boarding the crowded bus.

4) The must-be-happening

Self-proclaimed social butterflies who try their best to be in-the-scene. They join cheerleading and wave their pompoms. Must join house committee, sports carnival and in the end...... their results suck kuakuakua.

5) I am very artsy-fartsy and cheemo

Must...always...use...bombastic....words...to impress!

serenade of valorous men dressed in dishabille fornicating vehemently! Of course normal people wont be able to understand except maybe for erm Shakespeare and Martians who can decode quantum numbers....
Need to whip out a dictionary every now and then to verify their words of wisdom!

Must speak the Shakespeare lingo to exude the attitude of a romanticist! Oh fi fai ho hum, hark here hark shall! Where forth art thou baby?

And the hokkien beng at the heartland void deck will say: simi lai eh? Mai gong jiao wei!

end of school

the most anticipated moment of the year!

*throws confetti and blast fireworks!

No need to see chao bins (black face) of stupid people! (for now)

and niaming (constant chanting) of teachers! The A-level two year course is very rigorous...you can't use the O-level method to study for your A level exams. Can't study one week before. Must be consistent. Can't memorise. Must Apply! Yadda yadda.

No more heavy bags ( actually could be lighter but I insist to bring extra notes for study but in the end I didnt which means I brought them in vain like a gong kia wtf.)

Every teacher has psychoed us into revising for next year's stuff. I wonder if I'm going to do that.

Anyway, I'm going to watch the Final Act of Inuyasha for now. The show has been running for 10 years and finally coming to an end. It evokes and bring back alot of memories though. Watched it during wee hours on the old arts central (now called okto -,-) and we'll eat tidbits at the same time on the warm sofa couch.

Also watched it in Taiwan with cousins. The taiwan version for names is different as they follow the chinese way of pronouncing Kanji.

Inyusha is called 犬夜叉 (quan ye cha). Kagome is called 阿篱 (Ah Li, but you could call her ali baba).
Shippo is called 屎宝 or something.

Btw, I watch Inuyasha on veoh.com. You have to install the Veoh player first but I guarantee that it's worth it. You can find all the full-length episode of the final act.

how singaporeans view the world

The world in singaporean's perspective

Note: This post is supposed to be satire and contains extreme stereotype. No harm is intended ^^
Explanation,starting from top left.

2-4-1 pizza: I guess Canada is a peaceful country and the frequency of it appearing in the news is low. So, the  most famous thing about Canada in Singapore is the cheap 2 pizza for the price of 1 pizza lol.

Sarah Palin: Alaska. Homeland to the bimbo politican.

Hollywoodland, guns and land of the free: USA where our main source of entertainment and gossips come from. All the rich, beautiful, dirty, famous nit dit shits. Also the country where getting gunshots is prevalent. Land-of-the-free: One of the most liberal countries  in da world!

Crime: Mexico. Famous for drugtrafficking, murder, etc.

Soccer: The Soccer kingdom! Where the Soccer giants like Brazil and Argentina come from! If you don't know, you're probably a nerd.

Hogwarts: Our colonial master United Kingdom. where hairy potter originated from. Kids in primary school like to ride on broomsticks in classroom to emulate our favourite story protagonist.

Santa Claus: The Artic Circle where the mythical childhood hero come from.

Rich, relaxed, cultured people: Mainland Europe. can't be far from the truth but a mockery out of the general white-washed singaporean teenagers lol.

Poverty: Africa. Most of our mums threatened to send us there if we dont finish the dinner that they cook.

war,oil and terrorism: Middle-East. Forget the aged-old civilizations and the rich cultures, now the newspapers are splashed with news of terrorism and war between the countries. dum dum dum. Iran V.S Iraq today. Iraq v.s kuwait tml. Israel v.s. Palestine, U.s V.s Iraq.

bollywood, roti prata: Turn to Vasatham Central and you'll see alot Indian movies with people dancing LOL. Classic pose is the people dancing around coconut trees. Roti prata, one of singaporean's favourites food.

banglas: Bangladesh, where we get a lot of our foreign labours from.

communists: Russia. where our textbooks heavily "condemn" them.

People ride horse here: Wuxia dramas on television portray Mongolia as a land full of grass, nomads and horse. But it's quite true.

Muggers, fake goods: Singaporeans normally view mainland chinese students as muggers who study all the time and steal our A grades. Land of fake and defect goods, including the milk scandal. Most of the time Singaporeans don't like to buy China products due to it's poor quality.

Panda: Sichuan lol.

Bombers: The notorious North koreans who channel a lot of economic funds into building nuclear bomb facilities to bomb south korea instead of feeding the malnourished population.

Kpop, K-dramas: The land of the K-wave.

Animeland and AV idols: Japan. Most of Asian porn downloaded from this country lol.

Jay Chou: King of Mandopop from Taiwan.

Poor countries: Other Southeast Asian countries. Abit degrading. Most singaporeans dont know nitwits about our neighbours except for hardcore history students.

Pipo Protest alot here: The violent bangkok protests received alot of news coverage here.

everything cheap cheap: Singaporeans view Malaysia as a shopping heaven due to the relative cheap exchange rates, lower standard of living and close proximity. Public holidays must go there!

The mighty red dot: Da best country in the world! But still must complain!

Hazeland: Indonesia. Everytime spread haze to singapore! Most Singaporeans Curse Indonesia for their irresponsible burning of forests.

Maria's hometown: Philippines, where most maids come from (besides indonesia.)

Slack: Australia, slower pace of life and less intensive education system. Most Singaporeans want to migrate there.

Sheep: New Zealand! Got more sheep than people there.

Existentialism

existentialism is concerned with finding self and the meaning of life through free will, choice and responsibility. The belief is that people are searching to find out who and what they are throughout life as they make choices based on their experiences, beliefs, and outlook. And personal choices become unique without the necessity of an objective form of truth.
You are. Because?
My personal take is that nobody is unique. everyone is just product of influences. We pick up pieces from everywhere that we desire and piece them up together, producing our "unique self".

A rose is not just a rose, not just a rose and not just a rose! It is made up of petals, branches, thorns and leaves and is shaped by mother nature and fertilisers!

Our opinions and attitudes are shaped by our environment and early nurturers.
terrible experiences can also shape a person's life.

For example, I grew up in an environment with strong Chinese influences and had alot of thou shalt nots and confucian admonitions wtf but ok to be fair, I was also sheltered with family warmth.

Asked to save more and spend less...preference of social harmony instead of dissent and collectivism over individualism.

After that I had western education and was geared with something else. Yes, the power to challenge.
We're shaped by the type of family we're in and the country we're in. Nationalism and patriotism.

And I see that people who come out from fundamental christian families are more dogmatic haha, believing that dinosaurs are works of the devil wtf.
And people who watch gossip girls extensively tends to be more corrupted.

Having Taiwanese blood of course I support Kuomintang over CCP! And don't ever insult Taiwan irrationally or dont drink bubble tea and switch off your laptop right now! (80% of computer products are manufactured in taiwan).

And being and arts student makes me more analytical and less unscientific??? Er..

And the human free will is limited and our desired choices are mostly not acted out because there's conflict between following one's dreams and clamping down on them in order to assimilate into society. Man does not live alone and have to take into consideration of how society functions.
Welcome to the human race. Nobody controls his own life, Ender. The best you can do is choose to be controlled by good people, by people who love you.---Valentine from Ender's game
But as we become adults, we have increasing freedom to choose how we want to be influenced. Previously, pieces of ourselves was fitted by our authoritative figures and now we have the freedom to find the puzzle pieces again and piece them in ourselves.

We can choose to discern and receive what type of education we want receive. Migrate. Choose our own job. Get our own social circle and even migrate to a new society with different customs and rules. We fit in. Then get influenced.
Ultimately, I am a firm believer of objectivism.
Objectivism holds that reality exists independent of consciousness, that human beings have direct contact with reality through sense perception, that one can attain objective knowledge from perception through the process of concept formation and inductive and deductive logic, that the proper moral purpose of one's life is the pursuit of one's own happiness or rational self-interest
Although Ayn rand's books are deemed as the bible for right-wing losers by the simpsons haha.
The past is indicative. choices define us. With our hands, we pick the truth
Anyway, here's a little joke.
Taoism: Shit happens Hare krishna: Shit happens Rama Rama Ding Ding Hinduism: This shit has happened before Christianity: That shit happens is the will of god Zen: What is the sound of shit happening? Existentialism: Shit doesn't happen; shit is Buddhism: When shit happens, is it really shit? Confucianism: Confucius say, "Shit happens" Judaism: Why does this shit always happen to us? Atheism: Bullshit!

what is and what's not

I was told:

“Consider a cup. It’s strange that what makes it really useful as a cup is not the cup itself or the material it is made of but the empty space within it. Consider a house. It’s strange that it is the empty space enclosed by the brick or wooden structure that people actually live in.”

This shows that “What is present is necessary; what is not is essential.”

Not just the flesh, but the spirit.

Not just the body, but the soul.

Not only the maths and sciences, but the arts and literature.

Not only without, but within.

Not just what can be seen, but what cannot.

Not just what is spoken, but what is not.

Not just what is present, but what is not.
Elvin

Reminds you of Taoism doesn't it? lol

我可以用一天的时间不再提起你 但我会用多少的时间去忘记你
          我不想想太多
         其实很多时候过去已经是过去,剩下的只是记忆的残影

我寻寻觅觅,想寻找温暖的怀抱,这种要求算不算太高?

Banana yoshimoto

Mum found two of Banana’s novels on my desk, read the sypnosis and advised me not to read them. Too depressing, she said. Perhaps one day I will walk out of these dystopian tragedies and alternate realities. I will just pick up novels filled with love and laughter.

But not right now. My mind is like a battlefield every now and then with casualties being inflicted too often. Angels and Demons battle continuously, ruining the landscape of my mind but none emerge with victory. I sleep to ease the pain because that was the only thing I could do to deal with the pain.

One day, the landscape of my mind will change. I hope it will. Hope is all I could do. Hope is all. Hope is will.

one day i will

One day I will be fully awake and sober, tackling the new day with revitalized energy. I will not dread the rising sun and continue to tuck myself into the cold blanket.

I will smile and welcome the day. I will.

Zeitgeist: The movie

Go to http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/ to watch for free

This film is a documentary that proposes rather controversial views and reveals the lies that we have been told for centuries and and is time to wake up. There are certain loopholes in the film, attacked by critics for misrepresentation of facts but overall, it’s worth a watch. The film has been awarded several awards as well.

Let truth be the authority and not the authority be the truth. Religion will never be the way to reform mankind

The movie is divided into three parts.

1)mythological origin of Christianity

Many elements of christiany have been copied from earlier “pagan” religions such as ancient egyptian religion and hinduism. The concept of virgin birth, 10 commandments, december 25th, symbolisms such as cross and etc.

Christianity have conquered by force such as mass massacre of pagans and jews during the christianization of europe and sacred wars during the crusade period.

You can see more about the myths and disputes of christianity here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_Christ_in_comparative_mythology

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_conspiracy_theory

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christ_myth_theory

Of course they are just theories, exercise your own caution when viewing those sources.

2)alternate theories for the parties responsible for the September 11th attacks

September 11 attacks were either orchestrated or allowed to happen by elements within the United States government in order to generate mass fear, initiate and justify the War on Terror.

I’m skeptical about this one because people can slant their views and simply justify it by backing up with sources that agree to their viewpoint. There are all types of sources supporting multiple theories and they’re kinda confusing.

3)bankers manipulate the international monetary system and the media in order to consolidate power

Don’t really understand this part and the way they pace this part of film is kinda confusing. Maybe its because I have limited knowledge of the banking system haha, maybe I will rewatch it after I have studied marcoeconomics next year….

Join the Zeitgeist movement!

We intend to restore the fundamental necessities and environmental awareness of the species through the advocation of the most current understandings of who and what we truly are, coupled with how science, nature and technology (rather than religion, politics and money) hold the keys to our personal growth, not only as individual human beings, but as a civilization, both structurally and spiritually…..

memories

I woke up with a dizzy head,

and a torrent of memories, conflicting ones, complementary ones came flooding to me. I was on the verge of explosion, short circuit.

For a moment I felt as if I became that child again. That weak, defenceless and helpless child that could do nothing but stand and watch. Watch how they torture and hurl insults at me. People were milling in the background. passerbys. They stared for a moment and then walked on, pretending as if nothing happened.

And then for a while, my head coudln’t feel anything. The chemicals couldn’t produce and mix, equpping my brain with an inability to feels any emotions. What was left was this numbness. Surprisingly enough, this numbness caused pain.

things I'll never get into(again)

Twilight: another story about a typical damsel-in-distress always getting into trouble with a prince charming always there to save her. cliche. And what's with Stephanie Meyer's half-fucked english? Vampire romanticizing is just another way to portray lust and ooze sex. cheap!

And why did they get Robert Pattinson to cast as Edward? He looks like a drug addict. Plus he totally dispelled the myth that Edward Cullen is hot. And can Stephanie Meyer please stop harping on Edward's looks!

What's with the werewolves stripping and showing their wolfy tits every 10secs on the screen? Those meaty scenes remind me of a gay group orgy.

Read a few pages of the book, dumped it aside. Nay for me.

K-pop- Thrashy music. commercialized techno music seems to be easily churned out just by pressing a few buttons of the garageband(music software in apple). Just toggle the notes abit, autotune and done!

And the lyrical content is kinda meaningless too. Either about some stupid love crushes or about how hot they are, cant wait to get laid. Oh, of course SNSD acts innocent and have alot of sex insinuation anyway. What's with the "oh oh oh oh ah ah ah ah"? Must have been painful while doing it...hmmmmm. And most of them look like plastic barbies mass produced from the same factory btw.

And Kpop does have alot of plagiarism cases. half of hyori Lee's album is confirmed plagiarized. SNSD, 2PM and FT island all face similar accusations as well. Don't support inauthentic music!

And what's with the whole Korean culture/language craze?

Do you know that 50-70% of korean vocabulary are loanwords from chinese? Most koreanophiles can't even handle chinese properly and hates chinese so now they love some language that has been HEAVILY influenced by chinese?

Most people are just brainwashed by the Korean Culture. How can u hate chinese culture and love Korean culture at the same time when we have such a profound influence on them? Throughout centuries, chinese architecture, religion, law, cuisine, political structure, language, technology...basically all aspects lol have influenced and SHAPED their culture

I don't see korean culture being as impactful as Japanese or Chinese.

Heard of any internationally well-recognized korean author? Read a piece of good Korean literature? No.

Have any korean scientist made any MAJOR contribution to science or won nobel prize? No. But Japanese and chinese have.

Lol, sorry to koreanophiles here but I'm just making my point here. please try to be rational though.
